so fast forward 8 years! Well a lot has happened in the last 8 years. Lets see - I've moved on from the broadcasting company and onto another small IT company in London, which lasted for just over a year. I became a father to 2 beautiful children (Annerie and Neil) and we move back from the UK to Cape Town in South Africa. Here I joined Dimension Data for the last 5 years and today is my second day in my new job at Microsoft. Yes you read it correctly - Microsoft - the ultimate job to have at a vendor on who's products I've been working since I interacted with computers - way back when I was 11 or 12 years old. So I'm specializing n Skype for Business now - a good all round product for which you need to know so many Microsoft technologies and how they all interact with eachother. Not to mention the firewall, networking and telephony aspects of it as well and we can probably throw in some mobility in there as well. Sadly Michael Schumacher has been in a terrible accident and though he is out of his coma, things will never be the same again and publicly he has not been seen since the accident.
On the f1 front, well since the hybrid era has been introduced I must say this year at last we will have a good season and not just a 2 horse race like in the last 3 or 4 years. Watching F1 this year will be more exciting and I hope Vettel can pull it off for Ferrari this year.
Anyway until next time - hopefully not another 8 years...

Yes it's 2009 and this will be one of my posts for the year. I've started another new job this week in the entertainment industry and it looks like I've finally found a company where I might do well for myself. Not only will I gain experience in windows 2008, but will be developing the network from 1 server and extending the email functions and other communications methods. Plus there will be some broadcasting work in the future, which can only be a good thing. Supersport watch this space as you will need to give me a job when I'm back in SA in a couple of years time. Well I reckon this is a long enough post and I will endeavour to post some more items this year.

Well I'm probably the worst blogger in the world, but then how often do people realy update their blogs? That said my photoblog site fotix.net just dissapeared for no reason and I have to start posting my photos somewhere else now, for free of course!. Anyway I'm winding down my current job to start a brand new job in 3 weeks time. In the meantime the F1 scene has transformed into an epic comedy. I would be happy, but not delighted for Lewis to get his 6 points back and then to crash at the weekend and for Massa to win the 1st night race in F1, Singapore. Kimi has an outside chance, but I reckon his days are numbered for this year. He better win it next season, when hopefully Ferrari will be fielding 2 world champions in their team. Not sure that has happenend before...Anyway this will be it for today and maybe tomorrow I'll update this blog, but don't count on it....

Got my ticket yesterday and are all set to go for Sunday. Though I have to be at Eugene's house at 2:30am to be at Silverstone at 4:30am. So an action packed weekend lies ahead, starting tonight with some video editing, followed by tomorrow's video class, then heading to a picknick in the park and the heading off to a long arranged barbeque where there will be around 18 people. Then with just a few hours sleep, I'll be on my way to the Britsh Grand Prix.

Well I thought I start blogging again, since it's been over 2 years since my last post. I thought they would've closed my blog by now! Anyway a lot has happened since, but that's history now anyway and not worth blogging about. Instead I'll be looking forward to the Britsh Grand Prix this weekend (My 3rd in a row). I'm picking up my ticket tonight at King's Cross Station after finding it on the Gumtree's website. Though it's only a Sunday Race ticket - that's more than I could as for as it's a sell out anyway. I'll be going with Eugene and his father in Law, departing at 03:00 in the morning to acquire the best seats available come 05:00 when the gates open.
I just hope they open our gate 1st, unlike last year when ours opened 5 min later and we missed our seating space that we eyed the day before. Anyway this it for today then....

Well Schumie has not proven me wrong yet and he destroyed Renault on Sunday to win the Chinese Grand Prix - he has now won at 19 different venues! Renault have themselves to blame if they lose the driver's championship this year. With Ferrari it excellent shape I can't see them losing it in the next 2 races. What a climax Brazil will be this year and what a great feeling it will be to have won 8 Driver's championships. That won't be beaten easily unless Raikonnen steps up to the plate. Well apart from that we had a great GL summit at our church and all went realy well. Lets see what this week wil bring...

Friday, September 29, 2006

It's Friday at last! It's been raining in London the whole night and some this morning.
The sun just came out, which is a good sign. Anyway today the GL Summit started at my church which is the only venue in the UK for this year. A lot of preparation has gone into it and I will be a volunteer tomorrow. My role will be that of a floater - meaning I can do anything at any time. Well it's going to be an early morning tomorrow - have to be there at 6:30.

This weekend it's F1 time again and Schumie is looking good in practise. Hopefully he can pull of his maiden win at the Chinese GP and overtake Alonso in the standings.

I just love it when a F1 season has to end so close points wise - it realy makes for nerve wrecking watching. In my fantasy leagues it's not going to well. Eugene ran off with the F1grandprixmanager title in out league. Will and I will be supporting him to crack into the top 10 her is currently 11th.

In the pick6 is much closer and there is only 10 points separating the 3 of us. With Eugene leading once again, but only by a mere 8 points. This weekend Kubica just have to finish 8th to give me a huge boost - he is definately the surprise package of the season.

Well have a good one...!!!
